“When I arrived in the Canadian Prairies from Ukraine, I was deeply struck by the raw, untamed energy of the land and its history. In this piece, I wanted to capture the vital warmth that allowed communities to thrive here through the ages. The organic, flame-like petals merge the sacred imagery of the First Nations' Sacred Fire with the radiant Ukrainian sunflower—a tribute to the shared energy, survival, and warmth that unite our heritage under the open sky.”
This bespoke 3D wall sculpture captures the primal, unifying force of the Canadian Prairies: Fire and Sun. When I relocated from Ukraine to Manitoba, I was deeply fascinated by how both our native traditions use fire and solar warmth as central symbols of life.
In First Nations culture, the Sacred Fire represents community gathering, spiritual resilience, and survival in harsh climates. In Ukrainian heritage, the Sun and Seed embody the agricultural heartbeat, warmth, and continuous renewal.
In both traditions, these sacred motifs embody the vital essence of the Sacred Hearth (Amo/Вогнище)—serving not as a defensive shield, but as an active beacon of life, communal warmth, and spiritual energy. The organic, flame-like strokes represent the radiating heat of ancestral embers and community strength, while the central core anchors resilience, creation, and continuous renewal. Unifying these symbols transforms the artwork into a powerful, dynamic source of warmth and motivation that infuses any room with living energy.

Set against a textured background of dusty prairie blue and muted slate, PRAIRIE SKY radiates intense, dynamic movement. The organic, hand-sculpted petals swirl outward like the embers of a Sacred Fire, finished in oxidized bronze and warm copper patinas. At its core, the hand-sculpted Fibonacci spiral glows with rich metallic tones, framed by a halo of genuine Black Onyx, Tiger’s Eye, Citrine, and Bronzite. Subtle micro-incrustations of raw Kyanite are delicately scattered across the slate background, creating a bold, tactile piece that embodies primal energy and executive presence.
